Finchpaw was out in heart beat, happy to be able to be acknowledged by Fawnflower, but still feeling an odd sensation about her. "I can come?" he asked, astonished. Like all apprentices, Finchpaw still learned to hunt even though he chose the path of a medicine cat. Still, something about Fawnflower and Fernstar's conversation disturbed him. Fawnflower was alread in love with the BrambleClan warrior. Sighing, he joined his mentor and leader, still brushing happily between them.

Fernstar led the way out of the camp and into the hilly forrest that surrounded them. She stopped by a small stream to wait for Fawnflower and Finchpaw to catch up.

He beamed up at his mentor. "T-thanks!" Finchpaw's ginger coat just slightly brushed across Fawnflower's, and he quickly side-stepped away, his skin flushing. "So...where are going to hunt? I found some fields of mice near one of the comfrey root plantations!"

Fernstar watched, a gleam in her eyes. Moving her gaze slowly away from the apprentice, she looked to where he was pointing. "We could try there," she suggested.
